What Happens When the Driver Is Wrong for Your Platform
A control module without a compatible driver can't be programmed into a Control4 or Crestron system, no matter how correctly it was wired.
A home automation platform, Control4, Lutron RadioRA, Crestron, or Savant, communicates with devices through software components called drivers (sometimes called integration modules). A fireplace control module requires a compatible driver to be installed in the automation system before the platform can send commands to it.
Driver availability isn't universal. Not every smart fireplace module has a Control4 driver. Not every module that works with Google Home works with Crestron. Selecting the module before confirming driver compatibility is the most direct path to a commissioning failure.
